China-Malaysia Summit May Mark Another Blow to U.S. Influence

Beijing has another opportunity to dilute the U.S.’s influence in Asia as Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak visits China this week.
The two countries are expected sign deals including one for a $13 billion, Chinese-financed rail line connecting Kuala Lumpur to Malaysia’s northeast coast, according to Malaysian state media, and possibly another for the purchase of Chinese-made coastal-patrol vessels.
