美国总统特朗普27日签署生效的“香港人权与民主法案”，将修正1992年“香港政策法”，让美国有机会取消香港目前享有并有别于中国内地城市的“特殊待遇”。美国此举被认为是对香港问题核选项。伦敦大学亚非学院中国研究中心主任曾锐生说，这是“我们所知香港之死的开端”。
